Drone Communication Networks
Advanced wireless connectivity for aerial platforms, integrating drones as both network providers and service terminals.
Drone Communication Networks
Our research focuses on the comprehensive integration of drones into next-generation wireless ecosystems, addressing two fundamental paradigms:
1. Drone-aided Communication Networks
Utilizing drones as flexible, mobile infrastructure to enhance ground network performance:
- Aerial Base Stations: On-demand coverage for disaster recovery or hotspots.
- Relaying Services: Extending communication range between remote ground nodes.
2. Communication for Drone Connectivity
Ensuring reliable and secure connectivity for the drones themselves as aerial terminals:
- Control and Non-Payload Communication (CNPC): Guaranteed low-latency links for safe autonomous flight.
- Payload Data Transmission: High-throughput links for real-time mission data and video streaming.
We optimize trajectory planning, interference management, and energy efficiency to realize robust and scalable aerial-to-ground (A2G) and aerial-to-aerial (A2A) networks.
